A transparent Firefox phone launched; the most expensive Firefox handset yet

Mozilla in association with KDDI (with LG a silent partner) has announced the launch of what is the first Firefox phone in Japan. Named Fx0, the USP of the phone is its transparent shell and the golden Firefox logo adorning the home button.

The phone that has been designed by the world-famous designer Tokujin Yoshioka will go on sale in Japan starting December 25. The new Firefox OS update includes support for technologies like NFC, 4G LTE, WebRTC.

Priced around $420, the phone is significantly more expensive than average Firefox OS handsets available in the market.

The Fx0 features a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of storage space, and a 2,370mAh battery.

This launch makes a total of 16 Firefox OS smartphones available in 29 countries.
