Tata Docomo users can now create their own phone numbers

Tata Docomo on  launched a service that allows customers to create their own 10-digit mobile number in what the telecom operator said is an industry-first initiative.

Tata Docomo, a brand of Tata Teleservices, is operational in 19 telecom circles in India. "Launched under the campaign 'It's my life, it's my number', Tata Docomo has made it very easy for customers to get a number of their choice," the company in a statement said.

Those who want to create their own numbers need to visit Tata Docomo's brand stores and provide their preferences, such as existing numbers, birth dates, favourite numbers or anything simple to remember.
